Impact

Impact is about making a meaningful difference in the world around us, and that's exactly what I set out to achieve. My project, aimed at raising awareness about mental health issues among teenagers, had a profound impact, touching hearts and uniting my community in a cause close to my heart. The endeavor was a resounding success, culminating in a remarkable $4,500 raised for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Georgia. One of the project's highlights was the incredible support from Mayor Tony Paulk of the City of Douglas, who proclaimed March 2nd as World Teen Mental Wellness Day. This initiative ignited a widespread movement in our community, highlighting the critical need for open discussions and support surrounding mental health issues among youth. The campaign saw the distribution of 355 "Today Will Be Better" t-shirts, a vivid symbol of our commitment to mental health awareness. Seeing these shirts worn throughout the town was a testament to the community's solidarity and a personal reminder of the impact we can make. I'm excited to share a collection of photographs from the campaign, showcasing moments like the proclamation signing with Mayor Paulk and the joyful faces of those who stood with us in this vital cause. These images, including print and online news coverage, capture the essence of our journey toward fostering a more informed, empathetic, and supportive environment for teen mental health. This experience reaffirmed my belief that together, we can make a significant difference, paving the way for a future where mental wellness is embraced and nurtured in our communities.
